Use these for targeted actions you want to drive your user to do. CTAs are a powerful way to get the user’s attention, but you should use them sparingly, so they don’t lose that power. As the name implies, a CTA should be actions such as “Sign up,” “Apply” or “Submit.” 

As for the copy, feel free to get creative. This is a great way to capture a user’s attention and get them to perform an action item. Some best practices include:

• using active voice
• persuasive language
• and avoiding using “gibberish” links or “click here” constructions
