Typography is a core element of design. The options we've defined here lets us communicate in a variety of contexts while maintaining a consistent look and feel. Use these fonts across all current and future platforms.

FIU fonts - brand to digital

These fonts are the standard for FIU and can be used in design treatments in print and online. In addition to official FIU fonts, these Google Fonts are better suited to a wide range of digital screens on which FIU’s content is read.

Montserrat is a sans-serif font. Used for body content and navigation, but can also be used for headings and headlines.

The first algorithmic description of fonts was perhaps made by Donald Knuth in his Metafont description language and interpreter. The TrueType font format introduced a scale from 100 through 900, which is also used in CSS and OpenType, where 400 is regular (roman or plain).

Pairing two similar fonts together creates a visual conflict. This kind of font combination isn't recommended.
